This Week at Six Beers Deep - 10/13/2020
Oct 13, 2020 - Evi1 Abed
This week at Six Beers Deep we have a slight overhaul of some clan features, something special for you fashionistas and some announcements regarding next season.
Please welcome the newest addition to the Bartender roster, the raid god Gorzooth himself! If you enjoy the occasional raid then it’s more than likely you’ve ran with the man formerly known as Bacon. He’s already helped around here so much that it’s felt like he’s been an admin for quite some time. If you see him around, please shoot a congratulations his way!
Sweeper Bot's Cleaned Up
If you’ve got a keen eye, you might’ve noticed that a few minor changes were made to the Discord server. A few unused channels were removed, the number of voice channels was reduced and there’s now a dedicated SBD Guides section that houses some great crucible guides.
SBD Guides may include some Discord or PvE guides in the future, keep your eyes peeled and let us know if you have any suggestions! As a last little bit of housekeeping, all Bartenders have had their roles consolidated to the classic teal color that you’ve all come to know and love, just so you know who’s who.
Speaking of Bots
Unless you’ve been sleeping under a rock, you’ve probably noticed the new Bartender bot, created and maintained by our own fabulous HunBurry. This is a custom bot that can tell you all kinds of neat information and stats, from Clan Triumph completions to your individual Bottlecap count. This bot currently mostly lives in the #clan-tags channel.
Outside of the Discord, this bot is available in most of our streamer’s Twitch chats. By interacting with and watching our streamers from #sbd-tv you can earn Bottlecaps, our newest iteration of ye olde Event Points. Remember, you can use Bottlecaps to enter giveaways or purchase up to two Clan Triumphs. If you run into any issues with the Bartender bot, please let HunBurry or a Bartender know!
Beyond the Horizon
Beyond Light is now officially less than a month out. That means that it’s your last chance to earn many in-game and in-clan achievements. This is your official reminder that you will have until November 9th at 7:00pm PST to complete the Six Beers Deep Season 11 Clan Card.
In case you’re curious, at the time this TWASBD was drafted 63 different members have completed the Season 11 Clan Card and have earned the title DARKDRINKER. Despite an increase in difficulty, this is officially the most completed Clan Card in Six Beers Deep’s history. There are still a few weeks left in the season, do you all think we can hit 100?
If you’ve already completed this season’s Clan Card, don’t forget that helping your fellow clanmates can net you a serious amount of Bottlecaps! Just be sure to verify the Clan Triumphs that you helped with in #bottlecap-clan-card-verification so that your assistance counts. Please note that unlike Bungie we’re doing something about hoarding. You will only be able to bring 33% of your Bottlecaps with you into Beyond Light. What you do with your Bottlecaps is up to you, whether that be stocking up or going all in on some giveaways.
Outside of the clan, Destiny 2 is going to be going through some serious changes shortly. You can visit Bungie’s official page on the Destiny Content Vault, but the TL;DR version is that a lot of stuff is leaving the game for a while, if not forever. If you’re an achievement hunter or a collector, you may want to get some of those triumphs, raid exotics or Solo Flawless Prophecy runs *cough* Blackbuc *cough* under your belt before it’s too late.
There are currently two active events in the Discord server that may help spice up this year's Festival of the Lost:
For the duration of the Halloween event: Run for your lives. Spooky Forest event. Clear branches get bottle caps. 1 bottle cap for every branch cleared with a minimum of 10 branches cleared.
9 Branches cleared = 0 bottlecaps, 11 cleared = 11 bottlecaps.
Each person posts their best run only, the highest run gets 25 bonus caps. Only 2 teams have successfully gone beyond Branch 9. Get in there and show us your light!
Put on your best gear, take a photo in a cool place and post a screenshot. React to your favorites with :SBDcheers: (only the beer emoji will be counted as a vote) Top 3 images with the most reactions will win bottlecaps!
1st place: 50 bottlecaps
2nd place: 25 bottlecaps
3rd place: 10 bottlecaps
Best Group Shot
10 bottlecaps per person tagged
One image per person, per category. If you are tagged in more than one group shot, you will be disqualified. This event will run through Friday evening (10/16/2020)
I’d also like to remind our members that our seasonal Raid Race will be held on October 24th. More details will be shared next week, but please mark your calendars!
The Recruitment Effort
It’s no coincidence that we’ve seen an influx of new members join the clan this week. With Beyond Light less than a month out, many Guardians are coming home. As such, we figured it’d be a great time to bolster our numbers. If you know any Guardians that you think would be a good fit, please send them our way. Be sure to follow our social media channels on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. You can also help the recruitment effort by upvoting our posts in various locations! More information on this can be found in the #recruitment-verification channel, where you can also earn some Bottlecaps.
Please join us in granting a warm welcome to new members SunnyOnTheRocks, djdrummons12, AaronOnLive, SlayRyals, Zmuh11, Azoreix, and Capn Bipto.
Clip of the Week
You may have noticed a newly empty #clip-of-the-week channel. This channel, much like the TWASBD, is being revitalized. Every week we’ll round up the highest voted clip in the channel to include in this blog post and will be uploaded to the clan’s YouTube channel. In addition, there are no longer content or length restrictions, within reason. Feel free to upload montages, edited videos or some sweet custom tunes. As long as it’s related to Destiny, it’s fair game. This week we’ve got a sweet play from Shinaneganz that netted him a We Ran in Rumble.
Not My Nade, Not My Problem - Shinaneganz
A new Destiny expansion is right around the corner and I think I speak for most of us when I say that we couldn’t be more excited. The Bartenders are reaffirming our commitment to the clan and to Destiny, but we couldn’t be where we are without our members. I’d like to extend a special shoutout to our Designated Drivers, and specifically Exigent and Saint LXIX for their outstanding amount of Trials help they’ve provided in the last week.
Please keep checking the website, the announcements channel and future TWASBD for any and all updates to the clan!
